Viral Update: Makers of Ponniyin Selvan 2 has a fresh update on the film's first single!

The tinseltown is buzzing with excitement as the the second part of Maniratnam's magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan , which is set to release on April 28th, 2023. The historial film series produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, as the first part was a cinematic marvel that took the audience on a breathtaking journey into the world of Chola dynasty. Now, the wait is finally over The latest update from the production banner is about the film's first single.

Lyca Productions added a exciting news to the fans, as they announced the first single from Ponniyin Selvan 2. They took to Twitter on Thursday evening, and shared a BTS in a melodious hinting that the song, which is all about Kundhavai and the process behind the character's lookover. The single is set to be a special treat for the fans as it features the gorgeous Trisha.

They wrote, "Sharp tongue. Fierce mind. Powerhouse! Have you missed our eternal beauty? Watch what went on BTS as @trishtrashers became #Kundavai! First Single Coming Soon! Stay tuned". The poster update also gave a glimpse of what's in store, and the fans are eagerly waiting for the song to be released soon.

The first part of the movie had a stellar cast that included Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Jayaram, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Rahman, R. Parthiban and Lal. The story, co-written by Mani Ratnam with Elango Kumaravel and B. Jeyamohan, is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel, Ponniyin Selvan. It is a historical drama that follows the life of Arulmozhi Varman, who later becomes the great emperor Rajaraja I.

The first part dramatizes his early life, and the second is expected to continue from where it left off. The music of Ponniyin Selvan has been a major highlight, with the maestro A. R. Rahman composing it. The cinematography by Ravi Varman was a visual treat, while the editing by A.
