It was a day to remember for Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan as they celebrated their first wedding anniversary on June 9, 2023. The couple, who tied the knot in a lavish ceremony last year, marked the occasion with their loved ones and a special surprise from the filmmaker.
Vignesh Shivan arranged for a private flute concert at their residence in Chennai and played some of the songs that are close to their hearts. One of them was ‘Kannana Kanne’ from ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’, their first film together that sparked their romance. The other was ‘Naan Pizhai’, a song that expresses regret and forgiveness.
Nayanthara was moved to tears by the romantic gesture and hugged her husband tightly. She was also seen wiping her eyes as she listened to the soothing music. The actress looked stunning in a black casual outfit and a simple bun.
Vignesh Shivan shared the video of his surprise on his Instagram account and wrote, “Our simple yet special moments. It was a very intimate celebration for our first anniversary with near and dear ones :) the pick of them all",

Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan also celebrated their anniversary with their twin sons, Uyir and Ulagam, who were born through surrogacy earlier this year. The director revealed their faces for the first time on his Instagram and penned a heartfelt note to his wife and sons.
