The release of the Ajith-starring film "Thunivu" has prompted revelry in the streets of France, with moviegoers lighting fireworks, whistling, setting off smoke bombs, dancing, and more in honour of the film's premiere. This fad just reached the level where a French national channel reported on the impression of unsustainable popularity of Ajith's films, mentioned the actor as "George Clooney" of Indian cinema.

A video of a national channel's coverage of the film's premiere and celebration in the country is currently making viral online. Even though we are in the Paris area for a movie screening, the atmosphere feels like a football stadium. This is the movie they come to watch. Thunivu an Indian film released this week. It was reported that the film distributed in 37 theatres in France. Boney Kapoor who bankrolled the film says, "I am so ecstatic to see the euphoria of ‘Thunivu’ in France. In addition, a video of Ajith's Thunivu which has been surprisingly talked about in a French television discussion program is also getting viral among fans. Tamil Nadu and international audiences flocked to theatres since Thunivu's debut. As per reports, the UK sales for Thunivu topped $300,000. This is the first film starring the megastar that has done so well internationally. At the end of day 12, the film stands at around Rs 196 crores worldwide, and the film is just inches away from crossing the Rs 200 crore mark.

The film clashed with Vijay starrer Varisu on January 11, 2023. The H Vinoth-directed film Thunivu is about a bank heist with full of exciting action set pieces, where Ajith giving a dapper performance with shades of devil. Major roles have been played by Manju Warrier, John Kokken, Mohana Sundaram, Samuthirakani, Vishwanath, and Darshan, among others; Ghibran has composed the music.
