Virat Kohli, who is the captain of the Indian Cricket Team, had met Anushka Sharma on the sets of a commercial and dated for four years before getting married in a private ceremony in Italy on December 11, 2017.

In August 2020, the couple had announced the pregnancy and said that they would be welcoming the child in January 2021. As announced, Anushka gave birth to a baby girl on January 11. Soon after the arrival of the newborn, Virat Kohli took to Twitter and said, "We thank you for all your love, prayers, and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope you can respect our privacy at this time".

Nearly three weeks after the birth, the couple had said that they had named their child 'Vamika', which according to reports, generally means goddess Durga in Hindi. As Anushka has revealed the name and released the first picture of her child along with Virat Kohli, the picture has been rampantly shared across social media as the celebrating couple has been in the rain of wishes.
