Virat Kohli vs David Warner: Will RCB counter the dominance from SRH?

Virat Kohli's fleet is all set to take on Warner's army on Wednesday and the battle, which is going to be the sixth game of the current IPL season, will be hosted by the Chepauk Stadium, Chennai. Kohli' Royal Challengers Bangalore is coming up with the confidence to carry on the winning momentum after registering victory in the augural match of the season against the defending champions Mumbai Indians.

Both the teams would unveil a fierce battle and we can expect some changes in RCB with the possibility of Devdutt Padikkal's return to the team after recovering from COVID-19. Padikkal was one of the potential players to watch out for in the IPL and in his absence, RCB opened the innings with captain Virat Kohli and Washington Sundar. The team had seen a flawed opening between the pair in the first match and the return of Padikkal would fix the opening partnership.

Today's match is the second match for both teams and if RCB wins, it would get placed at the top of the table. Padikkal's return would power up RCB's batting lineup as if the opening pair puts a brilliant partnership, the middle order batting line-up comprising of AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell would take it forward and put a big score on the board.

Besides being an intense battle as a whole, there would be some direct clashes in today's match which would be more interesting to watch. The clashes between Virat Kohli and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, AB de Villiers and Rashid Khan, and David Warner and Washington Sundar would be decisive battles that would determine the wind of the match. While Kohli's RCB eyes to mark the second victory in the series, Warner's fleet is yet to open its account on the table and it's not an easy task for SRH to open the account by defeating the Royall Challengers Bangalore.

SRH had opened the season by taking on the Kolkata Knight Riders. However, Warner's team had eventually lost the match by ten runs. Hyderabad is in the necessity of building a stable opening be it a first batting or a chase as it is imperative for the team to give a real fight to the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Hyderabad's bowling unit is powered by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sandeep Sharma, T Natarajan, Rashid Khan, and Mohammad Nabi.

One of the main factors that would help Sunrisers Hyderabad to build confidence is that the team's head-to-head track record with the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Both the teams had clashed in 18 IPL games so far in which 10 were won by the Sunrisers while RCB has won seven matches while the rest one match ended up with no result. We can expect that Warner will put the dominance over RCB to continue its head-to-head track record.

New Zealand's Kane Williamson is one of the star players in the Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, he is unlikely to return to the playing XI on Wednesday as team's coach Trevor Bayliss had said that Williamson would require some more time to regain full match fitness. With the capabilities of twisting and taking full control of the game, we can expect that both teams would unveil one of the spectacular clashes of the current season.

When we look at the probable playing XI, here's what we can expect, Sunrisers Hyderabad: David Warner (C), Wriddhiman Saha, Manish Pandey, Jonny Bairstow, Abdul Samad, Mohammed Nabi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, Vijay Shankar, Rashid Khan, and Sandeep Sharma. Royal Challengers Bangalore: Virat Kohli (C), AB de Villiers, Devdutt Padikkal, Glenn Maxwell, Daniel Christian, Kyle Jamieson, Washington Sundar, Mohammed Siraj, Harshal Patel, Shahbaz Ahmad, and Yuzvendra Chahal.
