'VK Sasikala must be ADMK's General Secretary': Party leaders shock EPS by passing a resolution!

While the ADMK leadership is taking efforts to barricade VK Sasikala's political comeback, a resolution that was passed in the Tuticorin district on Sunday had given a major shock to the current leaders Edappadi Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam. The resolution was adopted in favour of Sasikala by highlighting that she must continue to be ADMK's, General Secretary.

The party had appointed Sasikala as the General Secretary in early 2017 after the demise of the then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa. Sasikala was later expelled from the party after she was sent to prison. Palaniswami had taken over the party and the reign and after serving her four-year imprisonment, Sasikala is currently aiming to make the political resurgence.

As she has been speaking to several party members as part of her political outreach, her drive had stirred major furor in the ADMK, and apart from firing the leaders who spoke to Sasikala, Edappadi Palaniswami had ordered the district secretaries of the party to pass the resolution against Sasikala in a fashion of giving more power and support to the current leadership.

However, while several districts had passed the resolution against Sasikala, the party members in the Tuticorin district had passed the resolution in support of Sasikala. According to our sources, the party members of ADMK's North Tuticorin district had adopted a resolution on Sunday by stating that Sasikala must continue to be the party's General Secretary.

The meeting was attended by the district leaders of Jayalalithaa Peravai and the leaders had adopted resolutions including supporting Sasikala to continue as the party's general secretary and condemning the resolutions passed by various district secretaries without the support of the party members. The leaders have also slammed the ADMK leadership for expelling the functionaries who spoke with Sasikala with the motive of strengthening the party.

The resolution passed in Tuticorin had also said that the current leadership of the party acts as autocratic. The leaders further called Sasikala to strengthen the ADMK by meeting the functionaries. According to our sources, the meeting had passed 11 resolutions including a resolution of welcoming Sasikala to meet the party cadres to unite the party.
