Watch: Indian flag spotted in the mob that attacked US Capitol Hill, stirs shockwaves in India!

While the unprecedented attack unfolded by the pro-Trump supporters on US Capitol Hill had shocked the world with many describing the riots on the iconic symbol as the efforts of subverting the democratic principles, a particular scene from the violence had deeply disturbed India as many Indians had expressed their shock to witness such a scene in the protests that demeaned the democracy.

The large-scale riots carried out by the Trump supporters had flags of the United States and 'Trump 2020' and amid the wave of these flags, the Indian flag was spotted in the middle of the riots that shocked Indians as many stunned to see the Indian tricolor and raised questions of how the Indian flag was brave enough to wave at the protests against unlawful anarchies to rip off the democracy.

Trump had called his supporters to march towards Washington in his bid to stop the chambers of Congress from its process of certifying Biden's victory. Thousands from across the country had gathered before the US Congress against Biden and his victory and they began vandalizing the building by breaking the glasses and doors to enter the chambers to block its process of certification.

The protesters raised slogans 'We want Trump' and amid such slogans, the Indian flag was spotted as it was seen flying amid the mob. It raised various speculations and questions that how the Indian flag had got there. According to reports, the mob that marched towards Capitol Hill to block the process of certifying Biden's victory include Indian-American supporters of Trump.

As Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had expressed his distress about the riots and violence, the video of the Indian tricolor amid the mob has been widely getting spread across social media with many users expressing their shock and castigating the concerned group of people who carried the Indian flag in the march against democracy. Many Twitter users described the event as 'shameful'.

BJP leader and Lok Sabha MP Varun Gandhi took to Twitter and wrote, "Why is there an Indian flag there? This is one fight we definitely don't need to participate in". Rajya Sabha MP and Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi said, "Whoever is waving this Indian flag should feel ashamed. Don’t use our tricolour to participate in such violent & criminal acts in another country."

Communist leader Kavita Krishnan took to Twitter and said, "Shamefully there's some Indian American waving the Indian flag at the fascist coup attempt in the USA. Will @narendramodi@DrSJaishankar @SandhuTaranjitS object to the misuse of India's national flag in a white supremacist coup? Or is it Modi & MAGA Bhakts bhai bhai?".

Responding to the violence, Narendra Modi said, "Distressed to see news about rioting and violence in Washington DC. Orderly and peaceful transfer of power must continue. The democratic process cannot be allowed to be subverted through unlawful protests." The riots had killed at least four people including a woman and injured dozens. The Washington Metro Police department had arrested 52 people for violating the curfew and carrying the prohibited weapons.

As Trump instigated the violence and attack on Capitol Hill, many Republican lawmakers had criticized the President for inciting the mob. The riots had lasted for four hours and following the removal of the rioters, the Joint Session of Congress had officially certified Biden's victory and he will be swearing-in as the next President of the United States on January 20. After the Congress had officially certified Biden's victory, Trump has finally accepted his defeat and though he said he would disagree with the results, he asserted that there will be an orderly transfer of power on January 20.
