Watch: Trump leaves the White House as the countdown for Biden's inauguration begins!

Outgoing US President Donald Trump has left the White House for the final time on Wednesday as the countdown for Biden's inauguration begins in Washington, DC. Joe Biden will be swearing-in as the 46th President of the United States in the absence of his immediate predecessor as Trump has announced that he won't be participating in the inauguration ceremony of Joe Biden.

Ahead of the inauguration of his successor, Donald Trump has departed from the White House as the president for the last time and he was accompanied by his wife, First Lady Melania Trump and the outgoing president would be traveling to his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, where it's expected that he will spend the rest of his life. In a video released, Trump and Melania Trump were seen exiting the White House before embarking on Marine One.

They had boarded the Marine One and landed at the Joint Air Force Base Andrews in Maryland and ahead of boarding the Air Force One to Florida, Trump addressed the nation for the final time as the President during which he said, "This has been an incredible four years. We accomplished so much together. I want to thank my family, friends and my staff. Want to thank you for your effort. People have no idea how hard this family worked".

In his short address with having the Air Force One in a backdrop, Donald Trump further stated, "We have the greatest country and economy in the world. We were hit so hard by the pandemic. We did something that is considered a medical miracle- the vaccine which was developed in 9 months". "I will always fight for you. I will be watching, listening. The future of this country has never been better. I wish the new administration great luck and success. I think they have the foundation to do something really spectacular", Trump added as his regime filled with controversies, division, and insurrection comes to an end.

He left the Air Force base to Florida by asserting that he will be back in some form as all eyes are on the historical inauguration of Joe Biden, who will be swearing-in as the 46th President of the United States. Donald Trump has become the first US President to lose a re-election bid since 1992. In 1992, George HW Bush had failed to win his second bid for the White House. He has also become the first president in 150 years to skip the inaugural ceremony of his successor.

While Trump departed Washington, Vice President Mike Pence will be attending the inauguration ceremony. In his last hours in the office, Trump had granted clemency to more than 140 people including his former adviser Steve Bannon, who was facing fraud charges. Trump had departed when Washington DC is under militarised fortification meant to prevent a repeat of the riot by his supporters earlier this month. In the farewell address that he released earlier on Tuesday, Trump extended his best wishes to the incoming administration.

Trump leaves the office by setting up the worst precedent of becoming the first President in US History to get impeached twice and he was impeached for a second time on the charges of incitement of resurrection for the riots carried out by his supporters in the US Capitol Hill. 78-year-old Joe Biden will become the oldest president of the United States and after the inauguration ceremony, Biden will be delivering his inaugural address which will reportedly be about his vision over the pandemic, unify, and heal the nation.

You can watch the inaugural ceremony live from the website of the Biden Inauguration Committee (https://bideninaugural.org/watch/) and also from any of the social media channels of the committee such as Youtube, Facebook, and Twitter.
