In what has become a promising precedent, India has a mix of 56 women and 71 men representing the country.

Day 7 has shined better for India, amid the disappointments from Manu Bhaker and Rahi Sarnobot (shooters) and Deepika Kumari (archer), with the impressive win of PV Sindhu, the outstanding performance of the Hockey team, and Lovlina's glorious surety of medal for India. Today's Olympics Bites of India:

It's safe to say that today, Day 7 was an honestly good day for India when we see Mirabai Chanu won the silver medal for the country on an opening day and witness the advancement of the Hockey team to the Quarterfinals with a win of 3-1 against Argentina.

After men's singles, Badminton Player B Sai Praneeth, and men's doubles pair of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy failed to qualify for the knockout stage, PV Sindhu came as a light bringer by brilliantly defended Akane Yamaguchi 21-13 22-20 in a 56-minute quarterfinal. She keeps giving us bright hope continuously as she is marching toward winning the medal without a single defeat in this tournament.

Lovlina Borgohain, a two-time world championship bronze-medallist ending the nation's long wait for a second medal after Mirabai Chanu's silver after defeating Chinese Taipei's Chen Nien-chin in a split decision and making it into the semifinals. It's so pleasuring to see the Indian hockey women team marked their first win, beating Ireland 1-0 and Men’s hockey team beat Japan 5-3 in their last group match to finish their group at the second spot.

And India was the only Asian country in the 4X400 Mixed Relay event, which made its Olympic debut in Tokyo this time. Of course, India's Mixed Relay team finished 8th in their heats, but they had a season-best time of 3:19.93. At 2 PM, Fouaad Mirza, riding Medicott, completes his Dressage with a score of 28.00 and currently stands 6th in the rankings. and will qualify for the second round of Equestrian.

What's in the store for India on Day 8 - Saturday of the Olympics:

Our remarkable Badminton player PV Sindhu will next face the winner of the other quarterfinal between Thailand's Ratchanok Inthanon and Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu Ying. And Lovlina stated that now she will go for Gold as there is no pressure on her as she has already secured the medal. We have to patiently wait for Aug 4 to see her semifinal match against Turkish Boxer Busenaz Surmeneli.

We have Individual eventing dressage session 3 of Equestrian as in Day 7 the Indian won an average of 72% from the three judges. It's nothing wrong to say Day 7 was the best day for India. Signing off by subtly hoping that a couple of medals may be possible for India.
