On December 16, when the eagerly awaited sequel, "Avatar: The Way of Water," made its debut, James Cameron's "Avatar" once again dazzled the audiences. This time, he voyages more through Pandora, a fictional planet in the movie. On December 6, the movie was released in the UK. On December 16, it was released in the USA and India. As per film tracker's statement, In india 3800 plus screens were allocated for the movie debut with 17,000 plus shows daily.

About a decade after the events of the first film, The Avatar: The Way of Water follows Jake and Neytiri as they raise their children and are forced to seek the aid of the oceanic Metkayina clan after the RDA and Quaritch return to Pandora.

Cameron has been claiming for years that he has a plan in place for a total of five Avatar films, with release dates set through 2028. The third film, currently rumoured to be titled Avatar: The Seed Bearer, will premiere in December 2024.

The movie received favourable reviews, and critics praised the screenplay, performances, action scenes, musical score, cinematography, visual style, and visual effects. Bollywood star Akshay Kumar already praised by writing, "Watched #AvatarTheWayOfWater last night and Oh boy!!MAGNIFICENT is the word. Am still spellbound. Want to bow down before your genius craft, @JimCameron . Live on!" And by Friday morning, Kollywood leading star, Dhanush intrigues more by tweeting, "ITS AVATAR DAY"
