Superstar Rajinikanth on Monday opened up about when the shooting for his upcoming Jailer will go to the floors. Ever since 'Beast' director Nelson Dilipkumar announced his next project collaborating with Rajinikanth for the first time, it's been the hot talk of the town. The film is currently heating up with pre-production works.

What has attracted swift attention is an update from the Superstar himself who revealed the date of when the movie shooting will commence. He spilled the beans about the shooting during a press meet after he met Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi. During the press meet, he was questioned about the Jailer shooting. The superstar responded that the shooting will begin on the 15th or 22nd, and Hyderabad is reportedly where the movie will be shot, and works are already well underway.

The project was tentatively named 'Thalaivar 169' and in June, it was officially announced that the movie has been named 'Jailer' where Rajinikanth will play as a prison guard. The film has been stalled for a while after its announcement. According to the insiders in the industry, Nelson was concentrating excessively on the narrative of Jailer after Beast's unfortunate response.

Jailer will be bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran under his own banner 'Sun Pictures'. While Rajinikanth will play the lead role, Shiva Rajkumar, Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Mohan, Yogi Babu, Ramya Krishnan, and Vasanth Ravi play important roles and Anirudh will be composing the music.

According to reports, the movie team of Jailer has planned to release it in Summer 2023. The last movies of both Rajinikanth and Nelson were produced by Sun Pictures. While Rajini's 'Annaatthe' did well commercially, it has garnered a pile of negative reviews and so was Nelson Dilipkumar's 'Beast'.
