When SPB sings for last time...'Annaatthe' first single is out: Rajinikanth's touching note goes viral!

The much-awaited single from Rajinikanth's next 'Annaatthe' is out now and what is more special about the first single is that it is the last song for legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, who was fondly called SPB. The first single of Rajini's next was released on Monday and it was unveiled by Sun Pictures, which bankrolls Annaatthe.

The movie has been slated for release during this Diwali and as announced, the first single was out on Monday and garnered a good reception. The moment of Annaiya SPB singing for Annaatthe Rajini for the last time has come close to the heart of the fans as yet another masterpiece of the legendary singer, who passed away in September 2020, after battling the Covid-19 pandemic.

Though the first single had relished the ardent fans of the Superstar, it also had become an emotional moment as the voice of SPB had reminisced the magic and legacy left by the singer. The bond between Rajini and SPB was well glued that it will be perennial and will always be on the pinnacle. The bond was in a fashion that SPB ended his breath after singing a song for Rajini and not only for Rajini, but for the entire cinema industry as it has become SPB's last song.

As the song with SPB's voice was released on Monday, Rajinikanth went emotional and penned a touching note, remembering SPB's legacy. Taking to Twitter, Rajinikanth wrote, "When SPB, who lived as my voice for 45 years, sang a song for me in Annaatthe, I have never dreamt that this is going to be his last song for me. My dear SPB will live forever through his sweet voice." 

Rajinikanth's touching note has been going viral on social media as the song has earned a significant welcome from across and beyond the borders. While the lyrics of the song 'Annaatthe Annaatthe' was penned by Viveka, the music is composed by D Imman. The lyric video opens up with a tribute card for SPB and Annaatthe has been touted as an action drama film. 

While the movie is produced by Kalanithi Maran under his own banner Sun Pictures, Annaatthe is written and directed by Siva. While Rajinikanth plays the lead role, the movie has an ensemble cast with Meena, Khushbu, Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Jackie Shroff, Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, Vela Ramamoorthy, Soori, Sathish, George Maryan, and Thavasi play important roles. Cinematography and Editing are performed by Vetri and Ruben respectively and the film is scheduled to release on the occasion of Diwali, November 4, 2021.
