'Who is the real Pongal winner'...This is what the films' distributor says on Thunivu and Varisu!

The box office battle between Thala Ajith and Thalapathy Vijay on Pongal has pretty much escalating with fans passing debate on social media. Vijay's Varisu is trending for the predictable emotions in his family drama, while Ajith's Thunivu, directed by H Vinoth for its stylish visual elements and Tinseltown narration.

Varisu and Thunivu was released on 11th January, where Varisu so far earned 35 crores in Tamil Nadu and Thunivu has reached around 50 crores on its third day, as per a film trader's report. In their usual fashion, fans argued on social media about which film was the true winner of the Pongal race, after the fact that both posters for the competing films bragged the titles "Pongal Winner" and "Real Winner" respectively.

Red Giant Movies, the company in charge of distributing the films, released a poster for them that omitted the negative connotations about who is the real winner, but wrote by taking us to Twitter, "THEY ARE TRULY THE BLOCKBUSTERS! Catch #BlockbusterThunivu & #BlockbusterVarisu at cinemas near you now! #HappyPongal"

Composed by S. Thaman, Varisu stars Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna as the lead couple, and also includes Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Srikanth, Shaam, S.J. Suryah, Yogi Babu, Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Sangeetha, Khusbhu, Samyuktha, and VTV Ganesh. H Vinoth's 'Thunivu,' which stars Ajith and Manju Warrier plays the main lead, in a bank heist story setup also have leads Samuthirakani, John Kokken, Veera, Darshan, and Cibi Chandran, and is composed by Ghibran.
