Meet Sriram Krishnan...A software expert from Chennai who is aiding Elon Musk in revamping Twitter!

For the club of trendsetting Indians who are inspiring world leaders, entrepreneurs, and millions of people, here is a new entrant - 37-year-old Sriram Krishnan, who has become the talk of the nation, particularly in Tamil Nadu as he is now becoming familiar across the globe. 

When Elon Musk, the world's richest person, acquired Twitter recently, he was hunting for top experts in the US to initiate the drive of revamping Twitter his way, and in the search, Musk found this 37-year-old software expert to execute the humongous task of building the social media giant under his leadership. Sriram Krishnan will be instrumental in aiding Musk to navigate the company.  

In other words, Sriram will be one of Musk's lieutenants shaping the future of Twitter. When Musk acquired Twitter, he fired Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal, who is an Indian, and in building the platform under his vision, Musk hired another Indian, Sriram to aid him. As Musk is busy looking after his other ventures, it is his team of experts that is laying a foundation for Musk's Twitter and Sriram plays an important role among them. 

The news about Sriram's new venture of joining Elon Musk in revamping Twitter has turned heads as this software expert has become one of the most searched people on the internet. Sriram Krishnan said that he will be temporarily helping out Musk in the revamping process. Taking to Twitter, Sriram posted a picture at the Twitter headquarters and wrote, "Now that the word is out: I'm helping out Elon Musk with Twitter temporarily with some other great people."

"I (and a16z) believe this is a hugely important company and can have great impact on the world and Elon is the person to make it happen", he added. Sriram Krishnan was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and currently residing in San Francisco in the United States. Sriram was raised in a typical middle-class family and he has done his schooling and graduation in Chennai. He studied Bachelor of Information Technology at SRM Engineering College in the city. 

After completing his bachelor's degree in 2005, Sriram joined Microsoft in 2007 at the age of 21 and he worked as a program manager for Visual Studio. He met Aarthi Ramamurthy in college in 2003 and they began dating in 2006 while working at Microsoft and the couple later married. They now have a 2-year-old daughter and live in San Francisco's Noe Valley neighborhood. 

After leaving Microsoft, Sriram joined Facebook where he built the Facebook Audience Network, a competitive platform for Google's ad technologies. After then worked at Snap and after a brief tenure, Sriram joined Twitter as senior director of products and contributed to the core user experience. He was instrumental in launching a redesigned home page and events experience. He worked at Twitter from 2017 to 2019. 

Three years after leaving Twitter, Sriram got a call from Twitter's new chief Elon Musk to aid his revamping drive. The Chennai-born software expert currently works as an investor and partner at the venture capital firm  Andreessen Horowitz, also known as 'a16Z'. The company is one of the investors in Musk's purchase of Twitter. According to Horowitz, Sriram works as a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz and is an investor in budding consumer startups. 

Besides being in a busy world of technology, Sriram and his wife Aarthi are better known for hosting 'Aarthi and Sriram's Good Time Show' and their channel is available on YouTube. It's a nightly show which interviews celebrities and tech giants. Notably, the couple has interviewed Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Balmer, Marc Andreessen, and of course, legendary music director A R Rahman.
