Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's national rally Bharat Jodo Yatra has reached its key stopover - nation's capital territory Delhi. As Rahul Gandhi's march has been welcoming national figures at important points, it has given a rousing welcome to legendary actor Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan on Saturday - December 24 as the march has successfully entered Delhi.

Rahul Gandhi has begun Bharat Jodo Yatra at Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, in September with the humongous passion to walk for over 3000 kilometers and reach its desination Jammu and Kashmir by crossing twelve states and two Union territories. After covering Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan, Rahul Gandhi's yatra had entered Delhi and got an enlivening reception.

The presence of Kamal Haasan in the yatra had poured more significance and sparked a talking point of whether Kamal Haasan is politically allying with the Congress party. As Bharat Jodo Yatra had reached a key stopover, Kamal Haasan is the first known Tamil actor to take part in the march thousands of miles far from home. Earlier, several leaders from Tamil Nadu including Kanimozhi and P Chidambaram had participated the march that was launched by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on September 7, 2022, in Kanyakumari.

Kamal Haasan has taken part in the yatra with hundreds of cadres from his political party Makkal Needhi Maiam. Joining Rahul Gandhi were the Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh, Pawan Khera, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, and Randeep Surjewala. Later, Priyanka Gandhi had also joined his brother as the marched amidst a sea of people. After crossing Haryana, Bharat Jodo Yatra entered Delhi from Faridabad during the morning hours of Saturday.

Delhi Congress Chief Anil Chaudhary welcomed Rahul Gandhi and while addressing the party workers, Rahul Gandhi said, "Common man of the country is now talking about love. In every state, lakhs have joined the yatra. I have told people of RSS and BJP that we are here to open shop of love in your bazar of hatred."  The visuals of Kamal Haasan walking with Rahul Gandhi have been going viral on social media as several Congress cadres are relishing the yatra's successful stretch that had celebrities, activists, and changemakers.

Makkal Needhi Maiam shared the picture on Twitter and wrote, "People's leaders - Kamal Haasan and Rahul Gandhi." Taking to Twitter, Kamal Haasan wrote before joining the yatra, "Makkal Needhi Maiam functionaries and I are going to participate in the Bharat Jodo Yatra led by my dear brother Rahul Gandhi to protect India's diversity. As an Indian citizen, my contribution will always be there to save the soil, language, and people. Jai Hind."

Addressing the Bharat Jodo Yatra event in Delhi, Kamal Haasan said, "Many people ask me why I'm here. I'm here as an Indian. My father was a Congressman. I had various ideologies & started my own political party but when it comes to the country, all political party lines have to blur. I blurred that line & came here." Kamal Haasan shared the stage with Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge, who hit hard at the BJP regime.

Kharge claimed that the BJP government's advisory to the yatra to follow the Covid guidelines shows that it is feared about the yatra and said, "BJP is in fear due to Bharat Jodo Yatra and is taking excuse of Covid. There is no Covid anywhere. Nothing happened to anyone. PM Modi himself doesn't wear a mask. All this is being done to create fear among people & break this Yatra." Rahul Gandhi said that the government is being led by Ambani and Adani.
