Why Mahesh Babu said 'Bollywood can't afford him'? Hear from the actor himself as he clarifies!

Telugu Superstar Mahesh Babu was in the spotlight recently over his remarks about his possible venture into the Bollywood film industry.  As his remarks were alleged to have degraded the Bollywood industry, the actor has now issued a clarification to mitigate the criticism against him. 

Mahesh Babu took part in the event of launching the trailer of the upcoming movie 'Major'. Responding to whether he will act in the Bollywood movies, during the interaction, the Telugu star has said that Bollywood can't afford him and that he doesn't want to waste time. Speaking at the event, Mahesh Babu said, "I did get a lot of offers in Hindi but I don't think they can afford me." 

"I don't want to waste my time working in an industry which can't afford me. The stardom and the respect I get here is huge, so I never really thought of leaving my industry and going to some other industry", he added. While speaking about his goals in the coming years, the actor said, "I have always thought of doing films and becoming bigger. My dream is coming true now and I can't be happier". 

His speech was going viral and didn't win a good reception from the Bollywood industry and his remarks that 'Bollywood can't afford him' has sparked massive flak against him with the fans of Hindi movies have alleged that the Telugu actor had disparaged Bollywood. The scale of criticism was in a fashion that it has warranted a clarification from Mahesh Babu. 

Amid the growing criticism, Mahesh Babu himself had issued a clarification in which he said that he loves cinema and respects all the languages. According to reports, Mahesh Babu's team has cited that he said that Bollywood can't afford him as he is comfortable with Tollywood. It has issued a press note and said that the actor's comment was blown out of proportion and that he never meant to disparage other languages. It further highlighted that Mahesh Babu is comfortable working in Telugu films. 

The press note reads, "Mahesh has clarified that he loves cinema and respects all languages. He said he is comfortable doing the film where he has been working. Mahesh said he is happy to see his dream coming true as Telugu cinema is going places." Currently, Mahesh Babu has been in the promotion exercise for his next and much-awaited movie 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata'. The actor will be joining hands with SS Rajamouli in one of his upcoming projects. Under Rajamouli's directional, Mahesh Babu will mark his first pan-India debut.
