Why Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra was arrested? Police reveal shocking details!

In a shocking piece of news, the Mumbai police have arrested businessman Raj Kundra on the grounds of creating pornographic films. Kundra is the husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and he was taken into custody by the Crime Branch on Monday. The police had registered a case against Kundra under the sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act. The stunning development has drawn national attention. 

A senior police official said Kundra was arrested in a case related to the alleged creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some mobile applications. The businessman has been spelt as a key conspirator of the case. According to ANI, Mumbai Police Commissioner said, "There was a case registered with the Crime Branch Mumbai in February 2021 about the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some apps." 

"We have arrested Mr Raj Kundra in this case on 19/7/2021 as he appears to be the key conspirator in this. We have sufficient evidence regarding this", the police commissioner added. A police official had said that a probe will be conducted into the case against Raj Kundra to ascertain if there is any link between this and the pornography case which was registered earlier. A case in this regard was registered on February 4 at the Malwani police station in Mumbai. 

Raj Kundra is a British-Indian businessman concentrating in hospitality, mining, entertainment, and cricket. He was the owner of the IPL team Rajasthan Royals. According to reports, an FIR was filed against Kundra after a woman had approached the police and made allegations in her complaint. A case was filed based on the complaint and the case was then transferred to the Crime Branch. 

The police had earlier registered cases in connection to pornography in which an actress and some other persons were made accused. The official said that the case was filed against Kundra under sections 34- common intention, 292 and 293 - obscene and indecent advertisements and displays, 420- cheating of the Indian Penal Code, and appropriate sections of the Information Technology Act, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act. 

The businessman has been questioned by the officials after taking him into custody. After getting arrested on Monday, the businessman was taken for medical examination at JJ Hospital by the Property Cell of the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police. He was then taken to Mumbai Police Commissioner's office. The reports say that Raj Kundra will be produced before the 37th Esplanade metropolitan magistrate's court in Mumbai on Tuesday.
