Will Kulbhushan Jadhav be repatriated?

Nearly two months after the International court of Justice had pronounced its judgement to grant consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav, an Indian national who have been imprisoned in Pakistan prison for the past three years, Islamabad had today granted consular access to Jadhav where the reports say that a senior Indian diplomat had met Jadhav in Indian rival land.

Kulbhushan Jadhav, a retired Indian navy officer had pronounced with death sentence by the Pakistani Military court under the grounds of spying and espionage on April 2017, much exactly one year after he has been detained by the Pakistani forces in its soil. As its retaliatory move, Indian government had knocked the doors of International Court of Justice, the principal judicial body of the United Nations based in the Netherlands, with its petition to counter Pakistan to suspend the death row as India had stated that Jadhav was not a Indian spy and had visited Iran in his business interests before capturing by the Pakistan forces under unproven charges.

In its argument, New Delhi had further accused Islamabad on violating the Vienna convention for barricading the consular access to Jadhav, which Pakistan had denied stating that the country won't sanction the consular access for the detainees under the grounds of spying and terrorism. After the hearing on the matter, the International Court of Justice, on July 17th 2019, had read its final judgement where it had slammed Islamabad for denying the consular access in multiple occasions and further urged the Pakistani military court to review the death sentence that has been pronounced against Jadhav.

After having the final judgement from the ICJ, Indian government had demanded immediate and effective consular access to Jadhav and the Indian authorities has been in touch with Pakistan through diplomatic channels to acquire consular access despite of tensions that have been mounted between India and Pakistan on revoking the special status from the state of Kashmir.
