Will Vaiko's petition free the Kashmiri leader?

Exactly five days after the Rajya Sabha member of Tamil Nadu and MDMK Chief Vaiko had filed his habeus corpus petition in the Supreme court to free one of the Kashmir leaders and former Chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah, the apex court had taken the case into the hearing and issued notice to the Central government on the state of the Kashmiri leader.

Vaiko has been one of the leaders to table the petition against the Central government for detaining the political leaders of Kashmir where through his petition, he had demanded that Farooq Abdullah must be produced before the Supreme court after which the government has to permit him to attend an event in Chennai.

During the hearing, the Supreme court bench headed by the Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, Justice Bobde and Justice Abdul Nazeer had questioned Solicitor General Tushar Mehta on the petition's claim that the Kashmiri leader was under house arrest for which Mehta had conveyed that he will acquire the instructions from the government and further opposed the bench from issuing judicial notices regarding this matter but it has been reported that the Supreme court bench had issued a notice to the Central government on the detention of Kashmiri leader and further cited that the government must respond to the notice by September 30th, 2019.

MDMK Chief Vaiko's petition which was filed on September 11th, 2019 reads that he has been organizing a conference in Chennai as observing the birthday of former Chief minister of Tamil Nadu Annadurai where the conference would host the presence of several state and national leaders inclusing Farooq Abdullah who attended conferences in previous years and further cited that such conference has been scheduled to held on September 15th, 2019 for which he had invited Farooq Abdullah but couldn't able to establish connection with the Kashmiri leader as he has been under house arrest since August 4th, 2019. He further notified that he had written to the Ministry of Home Affairs to seek permission to transport Farooq Abdullah to Chennai which was yet to be responded by the ministry.

Supreme court's directive had come after top Kashmiri leaders Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti have been kept under house arrest since August 4th, 2019 prior to which the Central government had revoked and abrogated the special status from the state of Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcating the state into two union territories.
