With a 'WOW' achievement, Village Cooking Channel team meets MK Stalin and donates to Covid fund!

Village Cooking Channel is in the rain of wishes and commendations after attaining a remarkable milestone of earning 1 crore subscribers on YouTube and with the historical feat, the team of the Village Cooking Channel has met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on July 4 and donated Rs 10 lakh to the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund to fight the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

Village Cooking Channel has become the first Tamil Youtube channel to reach the milestone of 1 crore subscribers and according to reports, the channel team has made the contribution to the Chief Minister to mark their achievement and the team had received the diamond play button award from YouTube, honouring their milestone. The team has been rocking YouTube and their achievement has been going viral with several people congratulating them on social media. 

The team had met the Chief Minister on Sunday and donated Rs 10 lakh to the public relief fund to support the government's fight against the pandemic. The channel members said that the transparency in Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund had convinced them to hand over the money to the state government. The channel is started in April 2018 and is being run by the family of farmer-chefs from Pudukottai in Tamil Nadu.

The channel had already got around 7 million subscribers in January 2021, with videos getting as many as 40 million views. In February, the channel has won the Black Sheep Award for the Best Food Programme. They got the first breakthrough through the video of eating winged termites and with that, they went on to release the videos of cooking fish and crabs, winning more eyes and mouths. With incessant videos and pure and must-tasted recipes of food, they continued to attract viewers, and eight months after starting the channel, they start getting paid by YouTube. Subscribers were piling up at rocketing pace. 

What has been a cooking channel has gone to a scale of the national channel when Congress leader Rahul Gandhi participated in the cooking. Rahul Gandhi has toured Tamil Nadu for the recently-held assembly polls and amid the poll campaigning, he had decided to take a break and visited the channel team and he then cooked mushroom biryani with the chefs. Rahul's cooking video had garnered national attention towards the channel and subscribers were surging, surging, and surging. 

On Sunday, Village Cooking Channel has become the first YouTube channel in South India to earn 10 million (1 crore) subscribers by posting 170 videos. Their work of presenting traditional food through the digital world has earned more love and support from the people, who turned into subscribers. As inspiring Youtubers, the team of Village Cooking Channel has proudly released a video on Sunday in which they unveiled the Diamond button presented to them by YouTube for reaching 1 crore subscribers. The video of unboxing the diamond button had garnered over 2 million views within 24 hours as the social media users are congratulating them for reaching a remarkable milestone.
