You must know: Big trouble for MS Dhoni...Why an FIR was lodged against him?

Legendary cricketer and former Team India captain MS Dhoni has invited legal trouble as an FIR has been lodged against him in Bihar. The development has shocked the Dhoni fans and it has come on the grounds of a cheque bounce allegation.

According to reports, an FIR was filed in Bihar's town of Begusarai and it carries the names of eight people including MS Dhoni. He was linked in the case after the company he promoted had given a cheque that was later bounced. The bounced cheque was worth Rs 30 lakh and the initial court hearing into the incident took place on Monday in front of Judicial Magistrate Ajay Kumar Mishra and the hearing has now been adjourned to June 28.

It has been reported that though Dhoni was included in the case, he is yet to receive a summon in this regard. MS Dhoni had promoted the New Global Produce India Limited in the past and this firm has given a cheque to SK Enterprises. In its complaint, SK Enterprises had alleged that a cheque of Rs 30 lakh given by New Global Produce India was bounded.

As Dhoni had promoted the New Global Produce India, his name has also been included in the FIR. The reports say that SK Enterprises had delivered an order for fertilizers but a majority of the product went unsold. In the view of compensating, the company took back the remaining fertilizer and New Global Produce India Limited had given SK Enterprises a cheque of Rs 30 lakh.

SK Enterprises had deposited the cheque in the bank. However, it was bounced due to inadequate funds in the account of New Global Produce India. Following the incident, SK Enterprises had approached the court and filed a case, based on which the police had filed an FIR against New Global Produce India and MS Dhoni, as he has promoted the accused company in the past. The complaint has been filed under sections 406, 120 (B) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.
