You must know: Why Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will be visiting the UK later this month?

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is all set to embark his first international tour after completing his historical nationwide rally - 'Bharat Jodo Yatra'. Rahul Gandhi will be visiting the United Kingdom later this month and in what would become a closely-watched tour ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, the top purpose of his visit would be delivering a lecture at the Cambridge University's business school. 

Cambridge University is Rahul Gandhi's alma mater and sharing about his visit, the Congress leader said that he is happy to engage with some of the brighest minds. Taking to Twitter on Thursday, Rahul Gandhi wrote, "Looking forward to visiting my alma mater Cambridge University and delivering a lecture at Cambridge Business School." 

"Happy to engage with some of the brightest minds in various domains, including geopolitics, international relations, big data and democracy", Rahul Gandhi added. Inviting Rahul Gandhi to the lecture, the Cambridge Business School wrote, "Delighted to welcome back Rahul Gandhi to Cambridge University later this month. He will lecture on the Cambridge MBA and hold closed-door sessions on Big Data and Democracy and India-China relations."

The top varsity further said that the lecture will be supported by the Bennett Institute for Public Policy, the Centre for Geopolitics at the University of Cambridge and the History Faculty, University of Cambridge. It is pertinent to note that Rahul Gandhi will be visiting the UK after attending the Congress party's 85th plenary session in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

The plenary session will be held from February 24 to 26 and the party will be framing its strategy for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls and will discuss several internal matters. Last time Rahul Gandhi went to the Cambridge University was in May 2022, during which he spoke at the 'Ideas for India' conference at Cambridge and had also interacted with the Indian diaspora. He also had interacted at the Cambridge University on 'India at 75: The challenges and way ahead for a resilient-modern India'.
