You must know: Why the Karnataka Congress has filed a plaint against top BJP leaders including JP Nadda?

In a latest attack against the BJP, the Karnataka Congress unit has filed a complaint against three BJP leaders for allegedly circulating a false and malicious content against the Congress party and its senior leaders including Rahul Gandhi.

The three BJP leaders against whom the complaint was filed were BJP's national president JP Nadda, chief of BJP's IT wing Amit Malviya, and BJP's Chandigarh unit chief Arun Sood. On Monday- June 19, Karnataka's IT Minister and Karnataka Congress unit's social media wing chief Priyank Kharge and another Congress leader Ramesh Babu have visited Bengaluru's High Grounds Police Station and filed the complaint against the three BJP leaders.

Priyank Kharge is the son of Congress party's national president Mallikarjun Kharge and in their complaint, the Congress leaders have accused the BJP leaders of circulating malicious content against the senior leaders of Congress. The complainants further alleged that the BJP leaders have intentionally spread false information with the motive to promote and instigate enmity between groups. In the complaint, the Congress leaders attached the copies of tweets shared by BJP's Amit Malviya and said that the tweets had falsely depicted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

The leaders of the grand old party, that got a new ground of revival through the thumping victory in the recently-held Karnataka assembly polls, said in the complaint, "The video circulated on June 17, 2023, on Malviya's Twitter handle, not only aims to tarnish the reputation of Rahul Gandhi and the Indian National Congress but also instigate communal discord and misrepresent the party and its leaders."

The complaint further said, "The video (shared by Malviya) showcases an inflammatory score, a distortion of the song. The lyrics were altered with an aim of provoking and inciting communal sentiments, a tactic that is morally repugnant and legally impermissible. This further cements the fact that all of this is an extensively thought out and well hatched conspiracy of the BJP and its leaders to commit the illegal acts."

"In fact, Shri Rahul Gandhi is shown (in the Tweet from Malviya) against the backdrop of Manhattan skyscapers, implying an association with foreign elements acting against the national interests. This false accusation is not only defamatory but also poses a threat to national security by sowing seeds of distrust among the people", the complaint from the Congress leaders added.

Accusing the BJP Chandigarh leader Arun Sood of demonstrating the malicious and criminal intention in creating and publishing this animated video, the Congress leaders had slammed JP Nadda, Amit Malviya, and Arun Sood of tailoring the creation and publication of the video with a motive to defame Rahul Gandhi for their political gain.
