From Ayodhya to New York: How the ceremony of Lord Ram temple prepares to go global?

In what has been claimed as a historic event by the followers of Hinduism and pro-Hindu activists, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Lord Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh on August 5 has been getting prepared to go as a global celebration, marking it as a grandeur ceremony and it has been expected to see the gathering of hundreds of people. 

On August 5, the giant billboards in the iconic Times Square in New York City would carry the images of Lord Ram and the 3D portraits of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya to mark the celebration of the temple's groundbreaking ceremony. Community leader and President of the American India Public Affairs Committee Jagdish Sewhani said on Wednesday that the arrangements are being made to celebrate the historic moment in New York. 

The images of words 'Jai Shri Ram' in English and Hindi, 3D portraits of temple's design and architecture, Lord Ram's videos and portraits, and the pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi laying the foundation stone in Ayodhya will be displayed across the giant billboards from 8 am to 10 pm on August 5. Apart from that, the members of the Indian community will be gathering at Times Square to celebrate the historic event and they would also distribute sweets. 

Sewhani said that this is not a once in a lifetime or a once in a century event, rather, this is an event that comes once in the life of mankind. He stated that the construction of the Ram temple is a dream come true for Hindus all over the world under Prime Minister Modi. He adds, 'Till six years back, we never thought that this day would come but due to the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the day has come and we want to celebrate it in a befitting way'.

Amid the COVID-19 outbreak and lockdown, the district administration of Ayodhya has been preparing to host the Prime Minister on August 5 for the foundation laying ceremony of Lord Ram  Temple. The administration has also been painting the walls and buildings along the road, where Modi's motorcade will be traveling, to give a glimpse of the Ramayana Era. 

The murals depicting important characters of Ramayana, including Lord Ram, Sita, and Lakshman will be painted on the structures. While Ayodhya prepares to go back to the Ramayana Era, the BJP Delhi unit has been planning to set up big screens across Ayodhya for telecasting the ceremony live. Delhi BJP leader said this occasion will be remembered by the generations to come and its party's duty to make this event as a glorious one. 

 

According to the reports, a total of 1,11,000 laddoos are under preparation at Mani Ram Das Chhawni in Ayodhya and these laddoos will be offered on August 5, during the foundation laying ceremony. The reports stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be laying the foundation stone of Ram temple on August 5. The treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust has said that the ceremony will be held by adhering to the social distancing norms as not more than 200 people will be attending the ceremony. 

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat will be attending the ceremony.
