Bad touch: A BJP leader is arrested for kidnapping a BJP functionary's son!

In the wake of a dispute between a BJP corporator in Hyderabad and a BJP functionary, the former ended up kidnapping the latter's son only to get arrested by the police. The corporator framed a big plot with a handful of people to execute his plan and while he was apprehended by the cops along with the nine other accused, the police have launched the search to locate the five other accused who are on the run.

According to reports, Baddam Prem Maheswar Reddy is a BJP corporator of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) from the Gaddiannaram division. The Rachakonda police arrested Maheswar for kidnapping 21-year-old Lanka Subramanyam, the son of Lakshmi Narayana, a local BJP functionary. It has been reported that Shravan, a BJP worker, has enmity with Lakshmi Narayana.

Along with Shravan, Maheswar Reddy framed a plan to kidnap Lakshmi Narayana. Shockingly, Lakshmi Narayana's own brother Lanka Murali joined Maheswar Reddy in the plot as Murali had property disputes with his brother. After the trio has hatched a plot, Maheswar Reddy approached a BJP supporter Puneet Tiwari to be a part of his kidnapping plan. As Maheswar Reddy promised to give Tiwari money, the latter took the help of his friends including students Manjunath, Pavan Kumar, Hemanth, and IT employee Balivada Praneeth.

As Maheswar Reddy formed a team, they went to the residence of Lakshmi Narayana in two cars in the wee hours of September 1. However, the kidnappers found that Lakshmi Narayana was not at home after which they kidnapped his son Lanka Subramanyam who was sitting at a Ganesh mandapam near his residence in P&T Colony in Gaddiannaram. The kidnappers took Subramanyam to Chintapalli in the Nalgonda district. After learning that their son went missing, Subramanyam's parents lodged a complaint with the police.

Based on the complaint, the police recovered the CCTV footage and with the help of the footage, the cops traced the accused and victim near Chintapalli. The police then rescued Subramanyam and arrested the kidnappers on September 2. The police have established that Maheswar Reddy is the key conspirator in the case based on the chats and a case has been registered against the accused under appropriate sections.

While the police have nabbed most of the accused in the case, they are in the operation of tracing five others. It came to the revelation that the accused had tortured Subramanyam. During the investigation, Subramanyam told the police that the accused hit him and tortured him by burning cigarettes on him. The accused had asked Subramanyam to take a bath and to get ready as he would be offered as a sacrifice at a temple.
