Big news for Vijay Sethupathi fans: Get ready for Makkal Selvan's 'Kutti Story'!

The seed of anthology is now grown as a tree in the Tamil Cinema industry, thanks to the waters of ideas and audacities of the artists for making the untouched subject grow as the tree of hope, giving shadows to more to come up with new ideas. Anthology, the collection of more stories directed by many directors, was pretty new for Kollywood when it welcomed the release of 'Sillu Karuppati' directed by Halitha Shameem. In a year, the Tamil Cinema had seen many anthologies in the queue that were released on OTT platforms during the lockdown. 

In line with that, the Tamil Cinema fans are getting ready to carpet another anthology, and this time, it's going to be in the theaters. In what has become big news for Makkal Selvan fans, Vijay Sethupathi has appeared in this anthology, which has been titled 'Kutti Love Story', for the first time. The announcement had relished his fans and they are waiting for another movie of Vijay Sethupathi within a month as lastly, he played a crucial role in Vijay's 'Master', which was released on January 13. 

Kutti Love Story is produced by Ishari K Ganesh under his banner Vels Film International and it brings four reputed directors under its roof - Gautam Vasudev Menon, Venkat Prabhu, AL Vijay, and Nalan Kumaraswamy, one of the remarkable collaborations of Kollywood.  The first look poster was released on Monday and it has come with the confirmation that the movie would be released on February 12 in the theaters. 

The first poster had revealed that Vijay Sethupathi and Aditi Balan will feature in one of the short films of Kutti Love Story directed by Nalan Kumaraswamy. While Gautam Menon and Amala Paul will play in one segment that is directed by the former, Venkat Prabhu's story will be featuring Varun and Sakshi Agarwal in the lead roles, and AL Vijay's segment will have Mega Akash in the lead role. Releasing the first look poster on Twitter, Vels Film International said, "We are happy to present you the First Look of our Anthology's Kutti Story". 

The announcement had excited the Tamil fans who are getting used to watching back to back anthologies with different stories, genres, and directors under one roof. Besides Sillu Karuppati, anthologies like Putham Pudhu Kaalai and Paava Kadhaigal had gained significant attention from the audiences which had given a good trajectory for the upcoming stories. 

It must be noted that Gautam Menon had worked in both the anthologies - Putham Pudhu Kaalai, which was released on Amazon Prime, and Paava Kadhaigal that was released on Netflix during the course of the lockdown. Putham Pudhu Kaalai had brought iconic directors Sudha Kongara, Rajiv Menon, Gautham Menon, Suhasini Maniratnam, and Karthik Subbaraj together for the first time and it has got a grandeur reception and critics. 

Again, Paava Kadhaigal has roped in Sudha Kongara, Vetrimaaran, Gautham Menon, and Vignesh Shivan and it revolved around the storylines of social stigmas, thrillers, and crimes. It was released on Netflix and after one year since the release of Sillu Karupati, the Tamil audiences are all set to watch another anthology movie on the big screens. Recently, it was announced that Gautham Menon and Silambarasan will be joining for the third time for a movie that would be produced by Vels Film International. 

Venkat Prabhu is currently in the making of Simbu's upcoming 'Maanaadu' and the movie's teaser was released on Wednesday. While Simbu plays the lead role, the movie has roped in Bharathiraja, SA Chandrasekar, SJ Suryah, Premji Amaren, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Karunakaran in the important roles. Produced by Suresh Kamatchi, Yuvan Shankar Raja joins hand with Simbu for the sixth time, and the movie is expected to hit the big screens in the second half of 2021. 

While director AL Vijay is currently waiting for the release of the upcoming biopic 'Thalaivi' of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa which stars Kanaga Ranaut in the lead role. On the actors' front, Vijay Sethupathi was lastly seen in 'Master' where he played the antagonist against Vijay. Master was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and it has become a blockbuster hit. Amala Paul was last seen in 'Aadai' and her upcoming 'Adho Andha Paravai Pola' is in post-production. While Aditi Balan had lastly seen in Aruvi in which she played a lead role, Megha Akash was seen in Oru Pakka Kathai that was released on Zee 5 in 2020.
