Celebrating Maaran and Viruman: This renowned Tamil director's sweet note about the brothers goes viral!

On Wednesday, the iconic Madurai was the epicentre of celebrations for Tamil cinema fans as the most admiring brothers of Kollywood -Suriya and Karthi were in the town to participate in the grand audio and trailer launch event of the movie 'Viruman' starred by Karthi and bankrolled by Suriya. For the first time in several years, both the brothers shared the stage in the midst of a sea of fans. 

Besides being star brothers on the screen, Suriya and Karthi are well known for their social works. While Suriya is running Agaram Foundation to provide education for the backward students, Karthi is running Uzhavan Foundation which is into developing agriculture. Praising the brothers for their social works, renowned Tamil director Seenu Ramasamy wrote a sweet note about the brothers.

Taking to Twitter, Seenu Ramasamy on Thursday wrote about the brothers, "One hand is for knowledge (Suriya for Education) and the other hand is for land (Karthi for Agriculture). The young one is for feeding the hunger while the elder one is for knowledge. Both brothers are for the lives of the Tamil people. My best wishes for Viruman (Karthi) and for Virudhugal (awards) - mentioning Suriya as he had recently got National Award for Soorarai Pottru." 

Seenu Ramasamy is known for the films "Neerparavai," "Dharmadurai," and the recent one "Maamanithan," starring Vijay Sethupathi and Gayathrie, which won the Tokyo Film Award for this year (2022) and received favourable reviews. The soundtrack for this movie was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, who also handled it for Viruman. 

Viruman is directed by Muthiah and Karthi joins hands with the director for the second time after the movie 'Komban'. Suriya produced Viruman under his banner 2D Entertainment while Aditi Shankar, the daughter of the ace director Shankar, appeared opposite Karthi. Prakash Raj, Raj Kiran, Suri, and Karunas play important roles. Viruman's trailer has garnered huge reception and the movie has been slated for a theatrical release in August 12.
