The Police commissioner further indicated that the decision of placing senior officials in investigating the case was due to the sensitivity of the issue. While addressing the reporters on Tuesday, Fathima Latheef's father Abdul Latheef, by citing her suicide note, had alleged that she could have faced a series of harassment by her department. He stated that his younger daughter Aysha had unlocked the mobile phone which was recovered by the police department in which she found Fathima's suicide note where she exposed the names of the professors who, she accused of harassing her. He expressed his despair that the IIT authorities have allegedly been attempting to meddle the mobile phone which contains the suicide note through their influence by claiming that they might pressurize the police department to tamper the device.
