While IIT Madras has become the first IIT in India to set up its international campus, it won't be the last as IIT Delhi is charting out to open its campus in Abu Dhabi soon while IIT Kharagpur is vying to open its doors in Malaysia. 

The vast premises of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has been caught up with back-to-back tragedies over the suicides of students.

These deaths have allegedly happened due to the caste and institutional mayhems and have sparked a voice of dissent from within the institute as the students raged against the administration. 

A Chennai police official said that the student was staying in a single occupancy room at the Mahanadhi Hostel on the IIT-M campus. 

The police have launched the probe and the management has expressed its grief over the death. 

The IIT Madras cluster has been reporting more cases. The total case count on the IIT campus has increased to 171.

On Monday, Radhakrishnan, along with Chennai Zonal medical officer Dr Alby, had visited the institute and interacted with the students and the faculty. 

On the other hand, the state government has announced that a penalty would be imposed for those who are found not wearing masks in public places.

The prestigious campus has shown a sign of cluster as the cases are feared to go up with more testing underway following the development. 

Debsharma will be produced before a local magistrate in Kolkata on Monday to acquire the warrant of transit after which he will be brought to Chennai for further investigation.
