Congress vs BJP vs BRS: The triangular race in Telangana...Who's defeating whom? Check out the exit polls!

The wait is over and the debate is now on the table about who will wither away whom and who will be the gamechangers in what was dubbed as the electoral semi-finals ahead of the 2024 general elections. The exit polls for the five-recently held assembly polls in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram have finally been released on Thursday - November 30.

The exit polls have come hours after Telangana had wrapped its polling. Beyond the political parties, millions of people had waited for the exit polls with bated breath as these elections are being seen as a prelude to the upcoming general elections. Each state has had an unique political landscape and immense race where the BJP and Congress had been top contenders apart from Telangana, where the ruling party BRS joined the race to make it as a triangular test.

All the exit polls indicate that there would possibly be a change of guard in major states with Congress and BRS would have a close fight in Telangana. While Mizoram would have a reign from the local party, the rest four states would possibly witness several twists and turns. So, what's in the exit polls and who would defeat whom in Telangana? Let's take a look at the predictions,

For the national parties of BJP and Congress, Telangana is the gateway for South India and while Congress has ousted the BJP from South India after winning the Karnataka assembly polls, the saffron camp has carried out intense campaigns in Telangana to make a comeback in the territory. However, the exit polls had predicted that the Modi magic won't bear fruit for the BJP in Telangana as the direct contest was between the Congress and the state ruling Bharatiya Rashtri Samiti (BRS).

The results of these five assembly elections would be declared on Sunday - December 3 and the exit polls had made headlines on Thursday. As far as Telangana is concerned, most of the exit polls had predicted that Congress will win in the state and will form new government, a news that would upset the BJP. Telangana has 119 assembly seats and the majority mark is 60. It is reported that the Congress party would secure this magical number and would oust the decade-long BRS regime.

India TV - CNX exit poll had predicted that Congress will secure a majority of 63 to 79 seats while BRS would end up getting around 31 to 47 seats. An exit poll released by ABP- CVoter had predicted that the Congress would win around 49 to 65 seats, BRS would secure 38 to 54 seats, while BJP would win five to 13 seats. As some exit polls predict that Telangana would witness hung assembly, it is expected that BJP would rise as a gamechanger in forming the new government.

According to the Republic TV - Matrize survey, Congress is likely to win 58 to 68 seats, while the BRS would secure around 46 to 56 seats. This exit poll has predicted that the BJP's seat share will increase from one seat in 2018 to four to nine seats this time. The exit poll published by Polstrat had predicted that Congress and BRS would win almost same amount of seats - Congress would get 49 to 56 seats and BRS would secure 48 to 58 seats.

The exit poll released by Jan Ki Baat has also predicted that the Congress party would win 48 to 64 seats, while the BRS could possibly get 40 to 55 seats. Times Now- ETG exit poll had predicted a clear majority for Congress with 60 to 70 seats and the BRS would end up getting 37 to 45 seats. As most of the exit polls go in favour of the Congress party, Telangana Congress chief Revanth Reddy asked the party cadres to start celebrate the party's victory on November 30 instead of waiting for final results on December 3.

On the other hand, the BJP would lament about the growing political prospects for the Congress party in Telangana. The BJP's narrative was that though it faces a debacle in Telangana, Congress should not win the state as such victory would turn the tides towards the Congress ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. As Congress had already won Karnataka by defeating the BJP, the triumph in Telangana would arm the party to strengthen the united opposition INDIA coalition.

Telangana is the young Indian state that was bifurcated from Andhra Pradesh in 2014. Since 2014, BRS chief Chandrasekhar Rao has been in power and as per the current suggestions, the voters' verdict would go in favour of Congress, which would mark Chandrasekhar Rao's Achilles heel in politics. Telangana went for the polling on Thursday and recorded 63.94% polling, which has become one of the poor voter turnouts of the state.
