Corona outbreak: This BJP MLA has been booked for violating the curfew!

While various Indian states have brought its respective territories under complete lockdown by imposing curfew under section 144 and restricting the movements of the people to curb the spread of the Coronavirus, the state governments have also deployed adequate security measures to grip up the curfew towards ensuring that the people neither violate nor defy the restrictions.

The police departments, along with creating awareness, have been taking stern actions against such curfew violators and the law enforcement agency in Puducherry has booked the BJP MLA and his associates under the grounds of violating the prohibitory orders of the curfew.

According to the reports, nominated MLA of BJP V Saminathan and two of his associates Somu and Muthu had reportedly assembled the people at Nesavalar Nagar in Lawspet and they were distributing rice to them around 11.15 pm on Monday amid the restrictions for the public gatherings. The curfew imposed under Section 144 prohibits the unlawful assembly.

By citing that Saminathan and his associates had violated the disaster management act and curfew, Lawspet police inspector Krishnan has filed an FIR under three sections against the nominated MLA and the associates. Saminathan is also the state president of BJP in Puducherry. The Congress ruling state has already imposed a curfew to refrain the movement of the people towards containing the spread of the pandemic.
