Suriya and Karthi, the beloved brothers of Tamil cinema, have shown their generosity and solidarity with the people of Tamil Nadu, who are facing the wrath of Cyclone Michuang. The duo has donated a whopping Rs 10 lakh to the state government to help the relief and rescue operations in the flood-affected areas.

Chennai and some northern districts of Tamil Nadu have been battered by heavy rains and strong winds since December 1, as Cyclone Michuang made landfall near Puducherry. Many low-lying areas have been inundated, and thousands of people have been evacuated to safer places. The government and various social organizations have been working tirelessly to provide food, water, shelter, and medical assistance to the needy.

The government has also sought interim Central assistance of Rs 5,000 crore to provide relief to the affected people and rebuild the damaged infrastructure. Chief Minister M K Stalin has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to declare the situation a national calamity and release the funds at the earliest.

Meanwhile, Suriya and Karthi have also been busy with their respective film projects. Suriya is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film ‘Kanguva’, which is directed by Siruthai Siva. The film is said to be a fantasy epic. The shooting of the film is almost complete, and the makers are planning to release it in 2024.

Karthi, on the other hand, is working on his untitled film with director Nalan Kumarasamy, who is known for his quirky entertainers. The film is expected to be a fun-filled ride with a lot of twists and turns. The title and the first look of the film will be revealed soon.
