DD3: Dhanush’s third directorial to have these special casts!

Dhanush is on a roll! The versatile actor and filmmaker has kick-started his third directorial venture, which is yet to be titled. The much-anticipated trailer of Captain Miller is expected to be unveiled either on Christmas or New Year, adding an extra layer of anticipation to the festive season. Captain Miller marks Dhanush's triumphant return to the screen, portraying a compelling period action-adventure set in the 1930s.

According to the latest reports, the film, which is currently referred to as ‘DD3’, features Dhanush’s cousin Varun in the lead role, along with Anikha Surendran as the female lead and Sarathkumar in a pivotal role. Dhanush himself will make a special appearance in the film, which is said to be a romantic drama.

The music for ‘DD3’ is composed by GV Prakash Kumar, who has already finished three songs for the album. The composer also in a recent interview, shared his excitement about working with Dhanush again, after their successful collaborations in films like ‘Aadukalam’, ‘Asuran’ and ‘Captain Miller’ which is yet to be released. 

The film is produced by Dhanush’s home banner Wunderbar Films, and the shooting is currently underway in Chennai. The rest of the cast and crew details are expected to be revealed soon. Meanwhile, Dhanush has a slew of projects lined up for release and production. He will soon join the sets of ‘D51’, which marks his second debut in Telugu cinema.

The film is directed by Sekhar Kammula, who is known for his realistic and sensitive films like ‘Happy Days’, ‘Fidaa’ and ‘Love Story’. Dhanush will also be seen in ‘Captain Miller’, an period-action thriller directed by Arun Matheswaran, who made his debut with the critically acclaimed ‘Rocky’, and Saani Kaayitham.

Dhanush’s second directorial, ‘D50’, is also wrapped up. The film is a multi-starrer, featuring, Selvaraghavan, Dushara Vijayan, SJ Suryah, Nithya Menon, Kalidas Jayaram, and others. The film is a period drama, set in the pre-independence era. Dhanush has also teamed up with Mari Selvaraj, the director of ‘Karnan’, for another film, which is yet to be titled.

The actor will also reunite with his ‘Raanjhanaa’ director Anand L Rai for a Hindi film, titled ‘Tere Ishq Mein’. And last but not least, Dhanush has confirmed that he will be doing ‘Vada Chennai 2’, the sequel to his 2018 gangster saga, directed by Vetrimaaran.
