Death of three technicians: Kamal Haasan offers solatium! Here's the update..

Actor and Politician Kamal Haasan has on Thursday announced that he would provide solatium of Rs 1 crore each to the families of the three deceased technicians of Indian 2 movie who were died on Wednesday night in the movie sets after a crane that was used to shoot the movie was collapsed and stumbled on them. The reports say that the incident had caused injuries to nine others who have currently been treated at Chennai.

The three deceased were identified as Madhu -the production assistant, Chandran - the art assistant, and Krishna - the assistant director who was working under Director Shankar in the movie.  On Thursday, Kamal Haasan, who plays a lead role in the movie, visited the injured people in Kilpauk government hospital, Chennai.

While addressing the reporters, he said that "Yesterday's accident was unfortunate and we lost our 3 friends. I will give financial assistance of Rs 1 crore each to the kin of those who lost their lives as they belong to poor families. We must take preventive steps to avoid such accidents in the future".

He stated that "I didn't come to the hospital as the representative of Lyca Productions or Rajkamal films, but I came here as I have lost three men of my family which deeply saddens me". He added that he personally feels disgraced of not being able to save the lives of the ground level technicians. He further stated that he had a narrow escape and he was lucky to survive. Earlier, he tweeted that " Though I have come through many accidents, what happened today was cruel. I'm standing after losing three men. The pain endured by the family of the deceased would be much more than what I'm feeling. I'm taking part in their grief as one among them. My deepest condolences to them".

The reports have stated that deceased assistant director Krishna is the son-in-law of reputed Cinema commentator and cartoonist Madhan. Madhan is one of the artists close to Kamal Haasan and he worked in Anbe Sivam movie along with Kamal Haasan. In line with Kamal, leading actors and actresses like Prasanna, Rakul Preet Singh, Kajal Agarwal, Arya, Aishwarya Rajesh, Varalakshmi, and Lyricist Vairamuthu have expressed their condolences to the family members of the victims.
