Dhanush's Vaathi Box office collection: Here's how much the social drama earned in 3 days at worldwide

Dhanush's latest film, Vaathi, premiered in theatres last Friday on 17th February 2023, and he is currently basking in its success   The film, written and directed by Venky Atluri, featured Dhanush's first role in a Telugu film. Even more surprisingly, the film has done very well in the Telugu states. Sir, the Telugu adaptation, quickly became a fan favorite at theatres nationwide.

The first-day gross in Telugu states is reported Rs 2.65 crore for Sir. Vaathi, meanwhile, reportedly made Rs 6 crore on its opening day in Tamil Nadu. Word-of-mouth from satisfied viewers has helped boost the film's box office gross profits.

On Monday, the film bankers, Sithara Entertainments, took to Twitter and shared the film's 3-day worldwide gross. They wrote, "#Vaathi #SIR grosses 51 crores in just 3 days Best ever opening for our Star @dhanushkraja #Vaathi #SIR tops Monday's test results as expected 'D' Rampage continues," The film, however, has received mixed reviews from critics.

'Vaathi' has reportedly earned over Rs 30 crores by the end of day 3 in Tamil Nadu, with the day 3 collection being higher than the previous two days' collections; the Telugu version, titled 'Sir,' has reportedly earned Rs 16 crores from the Telugu states; and the film's overseas collection is said to be around Rs 5 crores.

Vaathi is presented by Srikara Studios and produced by Suryadeva Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments and Sai Soujanya of Fortune Four Cinemas. In this film from the 1990s, Dhanush portrays Balamurugan, a teacher at a young age. Samyuktha Menon plays the leading lady. In Telugu, the film is titled Sir. Seven Screen Studio, owned by Lalit Kumar, acquired the rights to distribute the film in Tamil Nadu.
