Dhanush's Vaathi sets new career record for the actor! Check out the special poster from the makers...

Dhanush's latest venture, "Vaathi", which made a huge impact in both Tamil and Telugu languages. The film is directed by Venky Atluri and marks Dhanush's debut in Telugu cinema. Vaathi, which was released on February 17th, has set a new benchmark in Dhanush's career by becoming his highest-grossing movie till date, surpassing all previous records.

To celebrate this remarkable achievement, the makers of Vaathi have launched a special poster, thanking the audience for their overwhelming support. The film collected more than Rs. 118 crore worldwide, making it one of the biggest blockbusters of the year. The production house, Sithara Entertainments took to Twitter and wrote by sharing a special poster, "Vaathi / Sir movie on fire. Crossing the ₹118 crore worldwide gross mark! Thank you for the overwhelming response!"

It's worth noting that Dhanush's previous year's release, Thiruchitrambalam, grossed ₹94.25 crore in 18 days. Vaathi is a film set in the 1990s that follows the story of Balamurugan, a reputable educator who ensuring that all of the students at the government school where he works receive a distinction, by  making rivalry with a private organisation.

The film features Dhanush and Samyuktha in primary roles along with P. Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani, Samuthirakani, and Hyper Aadi. The movie is produced by Tollywood studios Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. After a successful theatrical run of one month, Vaathi has now made its debut on OTT via the streaming giant Netflix on March 17th, and the film's satellite rights bagged by Sun Tv.

The actor's next anticipated release is "Captain Miller" with director Arun Matheswaran which is currently in busy shooting schedule. He is also set to appear in the highly anticipated "Vadachennai 2", a sequel to his critically acclaimed 2018 film "Vadachennai", and D50.
