The long anticipated upcoming film by Dhanush, titled "Vaathi,” will debut in theatres on February 17. Filmmaker Venky Atluri calls Dhanush's role as a teacher who takes on the corrupted education system in an epic drama. The film's female protagonist is played by Samyuktha Menon. The film's trailer was released on Tuesday, and the actor playing the teacher from the 1990s for the first time is the crowning glory.

Taking to Twitter on Wednesday evening, Sithara Entertainments who bankrolls the flick unveiled the trailer by writing, "The wait is over! Here's the official trailer of #Vaathi / #SIRMovie" The trailer features Dhanush as a 90s junior lecturer named Balamurugan who stands against wrong doers indulging in the commercialization of education.

The actor Samuthirakani was also shown in the trailer to be a strong antagonist, and it's fascinating to see him in this context given that Saatai portrayed him as a pioneer of this educational theme. The film also has supporting roles played by Sai Kumar,Tanikella Bharani,Thotapalli Madhu, Narra Srinivas, Pammi Sai, Hyper Aadhi, Shara, Aadukalam Naren, Ilavarasu,Motta Rajendran,Hareesh Peradi,Praveena and others.

It has been revealed by the film's director, Venky Atluri, that the movie would likely last for around 2 hours and 12 minutes. The soundtrack for the movie was composed by GV Prakash, and the debut of the film's audio launch took place on February 4th. During the premiere of the movie's audio launch, Dhanush gave a talk in where he discussed about his portrayal in the film. He mentioned that the story takes place in the 1990s and that it wasn't until he worked on the movie that he realised how challenging it is to play the part of a teacher.
