Elementary public exams - The hope buster for the students of Tamil Nadu!

The state of Tamil Nadu had lighted new education policy of conducting public exams that would have darken the hopes of the elementary grade students, especially the students of class 5 and class 8 in what it indeed had shown that the state government had slipped away from its "no detention policy" till 8th grade.

The newly inducted policy had certainly speared the hopes of the students, parents, educational and social activists where the state based activists had flagged to voice against the state government's decision that would eventually mount the grounds of vocational education where the students who doesn't fit for school education would thrown out to carry out the family's traditional job. All these dramas were directed by the Central government where it had amended section 16 of the rights to education act with the clause carries the provisions which mandates that the students of class 5 and class 8 should appear for public exams. It stated that the detained students of these regular public exams will have to appear for re-exam in two months and if the students failed the exams again, they will be debarred in their same classes until they clear the public exams.

The sources indicate that the state government has right to avail exemption from the amended act but the state government of Tamil Nadu, which has been accused with abruptly supporting central BJP has again proposed the act in the state and speaking on the recent education policy, the state based educational activist Devaneyan had questioned the reason on the visit of school education minister Sengottaiyan to Finland, one of the Nordic countries in Northern Europe that was admired by the world on its world class educational excellence. He accused the minister for failing to understand the grounds of education in Finland and further cited that the government had proposed the act with the motive of filtering the students at their early stages of education.

The activist further furnished that India accounts for about 64% of women affected with anemia and their children will grow with least brain growth while compared to the rest of the students where those kinds of children will be termed as slow learners and will ought to consume more time than the normal child and the government is trying to crush their dreams under the name of "public exams" that would buff them from getting equal rights on education.

One of the fierce voices against destructive education policies in the state is Prince Gajendrababu, where he cited that the government had said that it won't be implemented in the state for the next three years which shows that the government won't detain elementary grade students for the next three years and its feared that it would drastically decrease the strength of students who passes the hurdle each year by flagging the policy after three years.

He urged the state government of Tamil Nadu to pass the resolution in the assembly for no mandatory examinations as education falls under concurrent list and accused the government for not constituting the body to acquire inputs from the students, parents and teachers union before flagging the policy level changes in education and indicated that conducting board exams for elementary grade students will fear that it will increase the ratio of school dropouts rather enlightening them towards acquiring higher educations. It had sounded that the government had failed to preserve and respect the rights of our future generation that in no way will enhance the educational growth in the country.
