EPS shocked! Is the Srirangam incident a bad sign to the ruler?

While the Pongal festival has popularly been celebrated across Tamil Nadu as part of the tradition and culture, the Chief Minister of the state has been filled with the shockwaves and skepticism over holding the throne of power in the state amid the queue of heated accusations and allegations, the sources close to the developments reveal.

The sources say that Edappadi Palaniswami, who has been attempting to drive his rule successfully to the end of the current legislative assembly, was occupied with the sudden apprehension over the odd developments from the spiritual grounds. While Edpaddi was marking the Pongal festival at his native place in Salem district, Sri Rangam temple in Trichy district, which is considered as the first among the 108 Divya Desams, had presented the news that deity Lord Vishnu was collapsed at the 'Vedupari' event organized by the temple.

Vedupari event is one of the important festivals organized by Sri Rangam Lord Ranganathaswamy temple every year during which the Lord would be carried around the temple premises and similarly, the event was organized earlier this week when the Lord was collapsed. The sources had stated that the collapse signals a bad sign for the government and the rulers and the authorities had immediately passed the information to the Chief Minister after which Edappadi Palaniswami directed the authorities to make sure that the incident won't hit the headlines and ordered them to pay the remedy.

The sources have highlighted the reason why Edappadi had filled with the shockwaves and uncertainty over the collapse of the deity where they had recalled similar sentiment during the rule of Jayalalithaa. The former Chief Minister won the 2011 election from Sri Rangam legislative constituency and it was during that period, she was sent to the prison in disproportionate asset case.

She has become the first Chief Minister in India to lose her power and face imprisonment and after getting bailed out, she stayed off from contesting in Sri Rangam constituency and this has been the sentiment that shaken Edappadi Palaniswami now and the sources have revealed that with the view of avoiding any untoward or dangerous incidents towards his rule, the poojas were carried out at the temple on January 13th.
