Exciting Update: Kamal Hassan - Shankar's Indian 2 plans for this double treat!

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, last seen in Vikram 2, have been busy with handful of projects. Now exciting update from the tinseltown is that fans are in for a double treat as he is set to star in two sequels of his blockbuster film Indian (1996) simultaneously.

Indian 2 and Indian 3, directed by Shankar, will be filmed in parallel, with Haasan giving an extra 40 days for the shooting of Indian 3. The films are expected to hit the screens in 2024, with Indian 2 aiming for a Tamil New Year release and Indian 3 targeting a Diwali release 2024.

The makers of Indian 2 have also announced a star-studded lineup of celebrities who will unveil the intro video of the film, which will be out on Haasan’s 68th birthday. The list includes Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, SS Rajamouli, Aamir Khan, and Kiccha Sudeep,  the makers have raised the expectations of the fans, who are eagerly waiting to see whether the intro will be a teaser, a promo, or a poster.

Indian 2 and Indian 3 boast of an impressive ensemble cast, featuring Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Siddharth, and Bobby Simha in pivotal roles. The late actor Vivek, who passed away recently, will also be seen in the film, as the makers have decided to preserve his portions. The film also has a host of talented actors like Jayaprakash, Delhi Ganesh, Guru Somasundaram, Manobala, and Vennela Kishore in supporting roles.

The creative team behind the scenes is equally stellar. Anirudh Ravichander, a maestro in the music industry, is composing the music for the film, while the cinematography is handled by Rathnavelu and Ravi Varman, and the editing is done by Sreekar Prasad. The audio rights of Indian 2 have been acquired by Sony Music South.

Indian 2 and Indian 3 are described as political thrillers, revolving around the character Senapathy, played by the versatile Kamal Haasan. Senapathy emerges as a vigilant crusader against corruption and injustice in the country, promising a gripping narrative that will resonate with audiences across the nation.

Haasan, who is also busy with his political party and hosting Bigg Boss Season 7, has four releases lined up for next year, including Indian 2 and 3, KH233, KH234 and Project K. Simply put, fans are surely in for a feast of entertainment in 2024.
