Merry Christmas: The release date of Vijay Sethupathi's Hindi debut is here!

The festive season is coming early for the fans of Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi as the makers of their upcoming film Merry Christmas have announced a new release date. The film, which was earlier slated to hit the theatres on December 25, 2023, has been preponed by 10 days and will now release on December 15, 2023. The announcement was made with two intriguing posters that feature the lead pair in a retro look.

The posters, which were shared by Katrina and Vijay on their social media handles, show them posing against the backdrop of Mumbai landmarks such as Regal cinema, CST monument and a kaali peeli taxi. The posters also have a tagline that reads “Raat jitni sangeen hogi, subaha utni rangeen hogi” (However hard the night will be, the morning will be just as colourful). The film will release simultaneously in Hindi and Tamil languages.

Merry Christmas is directed by Sriram Raghavan, who is known for his neo-noir thrillers such as Andhadhun, Badlapur and Ek Hasina Thi. The film is said to revolve around a simple man who falls in love with a girl and gets entangled in a dangerous situation on Christmas Eve. The film also stars Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Radhika Apte and Ashwini Kalsekar in pivotal roles.

The film has been shot in two languages with different supporting actors. The Tamil version has Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jay Babu and Rajesh Williams in the same roles as their Hindi counterparts. The film marks the first collaboration between Katrina and Vijay, who are both among the most popular actors in their respective industries.

Merry Christmas is one of the most awaited films of the year as it brings together two powerhouse performers and a master storyteller. The film promises to be a thrilling ride with a dash of romance and mystery. Fans are eagerly waiting to see what surprises the film has in store for them.
