The song ‘Naa Ready’ from the upcoming movie ‘Leo’ has been making waves on social media for its spectacular visuals and catchy tune. However, behind the scenes, there was a controversy brewing between the dancers who participated in the song and the production team.

A viral video showed some of the dancers protesting and demanding their payments, alleging that they were not paid for their hard work and dedication. The video sparked outrage among the netizens, who slammed the makers of ‘Leo’ for exploiting the dancers.

However, the Federation of Film Employees of South India (FEFSI) has come forward to clear the air and set the record straight. In a press statement released by FEFSI President RK Selvamani, he refuted the claims of the dancers and explained the details of the payment process.

He said that director Lokesh Kanagaraj had planned to shoot the song with 2000 dancers, out of which 800 were non-members of FEFSI. He said that choreographer Dinesh Master had approached FEFSI to enlist a significant number of dancers for the project. The 'Naa Ready' song was shot between June 6, 2023, and June 11, 2023, and all contributors were compensated.

The Dancers' Association (TANTTNNIS), a part of FEFSI, comprises 1,000 members. and that both members and non-members were paid according to their rates.  He mentioned that an amount of Rs. 94,60,500 was successfully disbursed to the dancers through their bank accounts.

The payment process was carried out seamlessly without any delay or discrepancies, and it's worth noting that even those who were not part of the association received Rs. 10,500/- per person for a duration of six days, which was also credited to their bank accounts.
