Former TN Minister and top ADMK leader tests positive for COVID-19!

Former Tamil Nadu State Minister Valarmathi has tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19) on Monday, reports say.

Valarmathi has become the sixth leader in the state ruling ADMK party confirmed to have contracted to the virus while the five sitting legislators of the party have been spelled positive for the viral infection so far. Valarmathi has served as a cabinet minister in the then Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's cabinet and she has been observing close ties with the party's current leadership.

According to the reports, Valarmathi has been admitted to a private hospital in Chennai for further treatments and the hospital said that the leader of the ruling party has been doing stable. 

So far nine sitting legislators of the Tamil Nadu Assembly had tested positive for the Coronavirus pandemic of which five belong to the ruling ADMK party and four belong to the DMK party. In ADMK's side, Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister KP Anbalagan, Sriperumbudur MLA Palani, Coimbatore South MLA Amman Arjunan, Paramakudi MLA Sathan Prabhakar, and Ulundurpet MLA Kumaraguru had tested positive and all five are under treatment.

In the DMK's side, Chepauk MLA J Anbalagan, Rishivandiyam MLA Vasantham Karthikeyan, Gingee MLA Masthan, and Cheyyur MLA Arasu had tested positive. Of these four, J Anbalagan had died due to the virus while the rest three have been getting treated. 

Valarmathi has tested positive for the virus on Monday. She has currently been serving as the Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Textbook and Educational Services Corporation and the Secretary of Literary Wing of the ADMK party.
