Has Tamil Nadu forgot Pollachi?

About eight months gone since the alleged sexual harassment of Pollachi had come to the spotlight that had revealed the horrific scenes that reportedly had the involvement of the heirs of top political faces of the state which have certainty brought annoying and embarrassing grounds and after traveling from the hands of local police department, to CBCID and to CBI, the case has now been taken by the Madras High court to over view and to monitor the investigations and litigation.

Initially, the investigations were carried out by the local police department and under the accusations that the superintendent of police had revealed the name of the victim, it was then transferred to CBCID, the crime branch wing of Tamil Nadu police that was eventually slipped away from flagging the stable interrogations against the suspects and by citing the lapse, the case was later went into the hands of the Central Bureau of Investigation but despite of the probe of the Central agency, the case hadn't seen with any developments apart from the case that was filed initially which had failed to net the suspects for harassing dozens of women apart from detaining four members gang of Thirunavukkarasu, Vasantha Kumar, Sathish and Sabarirajan. The course of investigations had pictured that about hundreds of women could have been abused and molested by the group but neither the investigative agencies had reached to the women nor they had come forward to file case.

By citing the grounds of delay in justice, women activists and women advocates had tabled their petitions in Madras High court, the state's top judicial body by indicating that the affected women in this case are living under fear of coming out to lodge a complaint against the suspects and there are no corridors for the victims to approach the team of CBI and through their petition, they had urged the high court to set up a special investigative team headed by a woman police to ensure that the affected women have their say and to provide legal and mental aides towards identifying and detaining the suspects allegedly involved in the crime.
