It certainly took about a fortnight for the Chennai city police to locate and to detain the banner suspect Jayagopal, who was charged under the proven grounds of erecting illegal banners that had killed 23 year old Chennai based techie Subhasree on September 12th, 2019.

Despite of multiple accusations and condemnations from the people, from the activists and from the Madras High court, the city police had seemingly nullified the judicial directives issued by the High court that had clearly pictured with their ill trapped parameters to lock down the main suspect who was at large since the death of the techie and on the other hand, the authorities of Chennai corporation had justified its pro people governance by sealing off the printing press that had printed the banners.

With having issued its responses to the judiciary, the special team constituted by the city police had finally located and arrested the main suspect Jayagopal on September 27th, 2019 who was reportedly been hiding out in Krishnagiri district and the day he was arrested, Subhasree's parents had received a postcard from Canada which had notified that Subhasree had cleared her exam with first grade marks to pursue higher studies in the country with the scholarship from Canadian government. Our reliable sources had said that this postcard had further deepened the sadness of her family where her mother had broke down with tears by stating that she would have gone to Canada if the postcard had issued before she had lost her life.

The sources further revealed that the main suspect Jayagopal was reportedly kept under the safe haven from the ruling state government and it has been reported that, since fleeing amidst the drones of police and heated accusations from the people, he was staying at the hotel in Anna salai, Chennai which has been close to most of the popular and familiar faces of the ruling party and most of the party men had claimed that the banner suspect Jayagopal had stayed in the hotel under the control of the Chief minister himself and mentioned their unawareness on how he has been arrested eventually in Krishnagiri district.
The police sources had stated that, after he has been accused and booked with legal complaints, he left Chennai and was touring Kancheepuram before arriving at Bengaluru after which he visited Hogenakkal in Tamil Nadu in which he was reportedly staying at a resort and further said that although he traveled around the city, he had stationed his fellow party man and supporter in his house in Pallikaranai, Chennai to monitor the surveillance of the police and that's when the police officials had cited the suspicious presence in his house who has been informing Jayagopal's son Karthi on the developments.

After detaining that supporter who has been put in Jayagopal's house, the police team had identified that he had spoken with Karthi for multiple times after which they had located that Jayagopal has been hiding out in Krishnagiri district and later on, passing the inputs to the state intelligence, the police team had confirmed that Jayagopal's car was parked in Krishnagiri, near to his hideout following which they had arrested and kept him in captivity with accordance to the directive passed by Alandur Magistrate court.

On the other hand, Jayagopal has also been booked under the charges of violations of traffic rules, the traffic officials had said that it had detained Jayagopal's brother in law Meghanathan, who was residing at his relative's home in Kancheepuram which had oiled the questions and the reasons behind two separate searches of the police department and the court had ordered to release the detained people who were said to have raised the banners. The sources further indicate that, after been produced before Alandur court, Jayagopal had pleaded guilty on his crime of erecting illegal banners.
