How potential are these US investments to Tamil Nadu?

It would have seemed that the Chief ministerial delegation of Tamil Nadu had attracted the foreign investments from the United states if we go by the number of companies, which ain't occupy the major role to shape the state economy to next level but if we graph the total amount of investments, we inevitably acknowledge that it would be far lesser than the expected investments from the countries like the United States, the largest economy in the World.

Before flagging his second leg of maiden overseas tour, the Chief minister of Tamil Nadu Edappadi Palaniswami had toured the British capital of London where he reserved August 31st with no meets and schedules which had mounted the debates on what that particular day had got to do to halt the busy tour. It has been reported that Edappadi Palaniswami had under colonoscopy surgery in London King's hospital on August 30th ahead to which he was advised to stay under rest for twenty four hours but neither King's hospital nor the state government of Tamil Nadu had furnished about the claim of hospitalization which had oiled the speculations that the state government would ought to disclose the details of the hospitalization if accepted and the state minister of health Vijayabaskar who accompanied the Chief minister had denied such claims and stated that no such surgery has been done to the Chief minister.

The reports say that after getting discharged from the hospital, Edappadi Palaniswami had stayed in his son's relatives house in London before resuming his London tour. The state health minister Vijayabaskar and health secretary had seen holding discussions with medical experts in King's hospital in the absence of the Chief minister and further cited that they held discussions to acquire package of foreign investments towards Tamil Nadu's healthcare sector. After wrapping up his London tour, Edappadi Palaniswami had reached the United States as his second leg of tour where he, along with his ministerial colleagues had traveled the state of New York and the city of Buffalo to study and to analyze live American technology towards dairy development. Followed by the tour of Buffalo, the state ministers had visited Niagara falls where the state minister for Dairy development Rajendra Balaji had stayed with his usual attire of "white shirt and dhoti" while the rest somehow matched the American attire.

The Chief ministerial delegation had held discussions with the business leaders, United States dignitaries and potential investors in the wake of inaugurating "Yaadhum Oore" in New York and in San Francisco, California. The visiting delegation had signed agreements and Memorandum of Understandings in the investors meet where more than dozens of US companies had agreed to invest nearly 5000 crores in the state of Tamil Nadu and Chief minister Edappadi Palaniswami had proclaimed that the state will create more than 20,000 employment opportunities through these investments.

The state of Tamil Nadu had hosted earlier such episodes of acquiring foreign investments where the state government had organized and conducted global investors meet in 2015 and in 2019 where the state had accounted for attracting investments of about 5 lakh crores and the whereabouts of those agreements and assurance of employment opportunities still remains unclear and most of the economic experts have said that the current investments from the United States are far lesser than the expected from the countries like the United States where some of the companies doesn't hold the potentiality to carry out overseas investments.

They further cited that throughout his US tour, the Chief minister had managed to acquire investments of about 5000 crores without tabling single and potential meet with any of the Fortune 500 companies where most of the companies have been headquartered in the United States. The companies like Google and Microsoft have been employed with more Indians including its Chief executive officers, where the CEO of Google Sundar Pichai belongs to Chennai. Chief minister Edappadi Palaniswami had stayed with touring San Francisco which houses the world famous Silicon Valley , the main IT hub in across the planet.

They added that the Indian companies like Tata will pour in more investments than 5000 crores and further questioned the need for flagging this maiden overseas tour which had attracted relatively smaller investments which the Indian companies are capable to invest. While speaking about the ongoing foreign tour, the economist Anand Srinivasan had told that the visit doesn't have the pictures and potentials to attract and acquire the foreign investments.
