Huge relief for Vadivelu...Big dispute with director Shankar comes to end: What fans can expect?

In a huge relief, popular Tamil comedy actor Vadivelu, whom the fans fondly call 'Vaigai Puyal', has had a barricade before him cleared on Friday, which had stirred anticipations that he will resume his career in the force. The development has ended the tussle between Vadivelu and director Shankar after the prominent duo has attained an amicable resolution to put the dispute to rest. Both of them had a soaring relationship for the last few years aftermath of the events that had happened amid the shooting of the movie 'Imsai Arasan 24th Pulikesi', the sequence of Imsai Arasan 23rd Pulikesi.

Imsai Arasan 23rd Pulikesi was one of the blockbuster hits of Vadivelu and it was the first movie he acted in the lead role. The movie was directed by Chimbu Devan and bankrolled by director Shankar under his production banner 'S Pictures'. The movie was released in 2006 and become a career-breakthrough film for Vadivelu and he went on to play the lead roles in several movies. It is knowable that his career had taken a major hit after his political involvement and he was not active for some years and with disputes with fellow actors Singamuthu and Thyagu, Vadivelu's career had declined further.

His career didn't take off to the expected height for over five years and he had kept his appearance in Tenaliraman, Eli, Kaththi Sandai, and Shivalinga. He had then played a supporting role in Vijay starred Mersal, which marked a significant comeback. In 2018, Vadivelu had agreed to work with Chimbu Devan on Imsai Arasan 24th Pulikesi, the sequence of its first part. The movie has gone to the floor with Shankar pitching in as the producer. The movie team had installed magnificent sets in Chennai and begun the first schedule of the shooting. However, within days into the shooting, a dispute had arisen between Vadivelu and the movie team.

It has been reported that Vadivelu ran into a tussle with the director over an issue regarding his costume designer and he had then refused to cooperate with the shooting. Vadivelu didn't take part in the shooting in wake of the dispute and as a film producer, Shankar had filed a legal case against Vadivelu over his unexplained absence. Shankar had also filed a complaint against Vadivelu with the Tamil Film Producers' Council and Naadigar Sangam (Association of Actors) and said that the actor is not cooperating with the shooting. Shankar has also said that due to Vadivelu's absence, he had incurred a loss of Rs 7 crore.

Based on the complaint, the Producers' Council has issued a ban against Vadivelu in acting in the movies. Due to the ban, Vadivelu was neither allowed nor approached by a filmmaker for acting in the movie and he was in the state that his career has come to an end. He then went on to claim that a few vested interests are trying to stop his growth in the film industry and earlier this year, he said that a good thing will definitely happen. In recent times, there were several negotiations that happened between Shankar and Vadivelu concerning lifting the ban and the talks were conducted by the Producers' Council and by several fraternities.

However, there had been no amicable resolutions met in the talks and there was also a round of talks that was held in June this year and it has eventually failed as both the parties didn't agree to go amicably. Amid such developments, Tamil Film Producers' Council has on Friday issued a statement in which it has said,  that Shankar has filed a complaint against Vadivelu and in connection to the complaint, the members of the council, actor Vadivelu, and Shankar's S Pictures had held talks and an amicable resolution has finally been reached in the matter.

As the years-long dispute has been put to rest, the ardent fans of Vadivelu celebrate the news as they welcome the resolution and the development has stirred anticipations that Vadivelu will soon be taking part in the shooting of Imsai Arasan 24th Pulikesi and will resume acting in the movie. Furthermore, as the ban has been removed on Vadivelu as the complainant has decided to end the dispute, Vadivelu is now free to sign and act on new movies. Fans can expect Vadivelu 2.0 reign in comedy and the reports say that he will also be joining a movie that is being produced by Lyca Productions. If all go well, we can expect Vadivelu's movie and a comeback within this year.
