The iconic race comes to an end: Jai Bhim is out of Oscars, but wins millions of hearts across the globe!

Amid huge expectations from across and beyond the borders, Suriya starred 'Jai Bhim' is out of Oscars 2022, but the run was crucial as the movie has turned millions of heads across the hope. The ardent fans of Suriya and Tamil cinema fans were waiting for the final announcement and the final list of nominations were unveiled on Tuesday and Jai Bhim didn't make it to the list. Though it has disappointed the fans, they relish the movie's reach by crossing difficult paths and drawbacks.

Jai Bhim was predicted to have a bright prospect to make it to the final list when Jacqueline Coley, the Editor of Rotten Tomatoes, gave a big boost to the movie team through her tweet that Jai Bhim may enter the final list of nominations. Her tweet was going viral and had opened gates for global recognition for Jai Bhim. New York Times Awards Columnist Kyle Buchanan had asked Jacqueline, "Which Oscar nomination could provoke the biggest reaction from you tomorrow morning?".

Responding to the question, Jacqueline said, "Jai Bhim for Best Picture. Trust me on this one." As this tweet had sparked more expectations from the fans and the movie team, the final list has arrived without Jai Bhim. Jai Bhim was expected to enter the final list of the category of Best Picture. Jai Bhim is one of the 276 movies from around the globe that competed to get shortlisted for the Academy Awards. Out of 276, only ten movies got nominated and none of them was from India.

Under the category of Best Picture - the final list of nominations has: Belfast, Coda, Don't Look Up, Drive My Car, Dune, King Richard, Licorize Pizza, Nightmare Alley, The Powe of the Dog, and West Side Story. The final nominations for all 23 categories were announced by Tracee Ellis Ross and Leslie Jordan. Apart from Jai Bhim, another Indian movie from Malayalam - 'Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea' was also on the race but had failed to qualify.

The Oscars will be presented on March 27. Though Jai Bhim had missed the resplendent honour, it has become one of the everlasting movies of India. Jai Bhim was released directly on Amazon Prime last November and it has been bagging several awards and has been running successfully. Bankrolled by Suriya and Jyothika under their own banner 2D Entertainment, Jai Bhim is directed by TJ Gnanavel and it speaks about how a woman from the Irular community fights for justice for her husband, who was killed under police custody.

While Suriya plays the role of Advocate, Lijomol Jose, Manikandan, Rajisha Vijayan, Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh, Guru Somasundaram, Jayaprakash, and Illavarasu played important roles. Sean Roldan has composed the music and Philomin Raj and SR Kathir had done editing and cinematography respectively. Though the movie had invited controversy over a particular scene that was politicized, the courageous acting and impressive making had driven the movie to the global stage.
