'I'm jealous': This popular actress openly admits her jealousy of Aishwarya Rai in Ponniyin Selvan!

Ever since Mani Ratnam released the hot red update about his adaptation of the historical novel Ponniyin Selvan, there was a lot of talk about the casting buzz during that time. During the audio and trailer launch, even superstar Rajinikanth acknowledged his love and passion for the novel and that he asked Mani Ratnam to cast him in the role of Periya Pazhuvettarayar, which is now played by Sarathkumar. 

In the same vein, popular actress Meena has now openly admitted her jealousy of Aishwarya Rai in a hilarious way envying the latter for playing her dream role of 'Nandini' in Ponniyin Selvan. Meena took to Instagram and wrote, "Ok. I can't keep it under wraps anymore. It's suffocating me. Wanna take off my chest...I'm jealous!! For the 1st time in my life, I'm feeling jealous of someone, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan because she got to play my dream character Nandini in PS 1."

"Wishing the cast and crew all the best for a sweeping success", Meena added and she shared Aishwarya Rai's picture as Nandini. Nandhini plays a vital role in Ponniyin Selvan's plot, suspense, and twists. Her persona is described as captivating beauty with an envious side. Aishwarya Rai was chosen for the role and it is the fourth time that she has collaborated with Mani Ratnam after 'Iruvar', 'Guru', and 'Raavanan'. As she is welcomed by the audience, Meena's hilarious claim that 'it is suffocating her' goes viral. 

Meena is a well-known actor in the south Indian film industry. She has won the Kalaimamani Award from the Tamil Nadu government in addition to three Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and two Nandi Awards for Best Actress. Her performance in the Malayalam film Drishyam, of Papanasam origin, earned accolades.
