Indian 2: Is the sequel to feature Isai Puyal's music from the first part? Here's what we know

The highly anticipated sequel 'Indian 2' is slowly but surely gathering momentum. The film has been produced by Lyca Productions, and filming was disrupted due to a tragic accident on the sets in 2020. However, production has since resumed, now the team is working diligently to deliver a movie that lives up to the sky-high expectations of fans. And the latest news coming out is music to the ears of fans.

The new garnered reports suggest that director Shankar has requested the legendary composer AR Rahman to preserve the music of epic Varma Kalai portions from 'Indian 1' for the upcoming sequel, and the Oscar award-winning composer has graciously given his permission.

This news has sent waves of excitement through the industry and fans alike. With AR Rahman's epic music from 'Indian 1' now set to feature in 'Indian 2', that will hold on to the original movie theme while also standing on its own as a spectacular sequel.

The first film, 'Indian', was a smash hit and featured Kamal Haasan in a dual role, playing both a father and son and the movie was celebrated for its compelling storyline, powerful performances, and AR Rahman's iconic music. 'Indian 2' will see Kamal Haasan in the lead role, alongside Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, and Rakul Preet Singh.

The film will also feature a star-studded cast of supporting actors, including Bobby Simha, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and late actor Vivek where his portions will be kept in the film as per confirmed reports. Other than that, Jayaprakash, Delhi Ganesh, Guru Somasundaram, Manobala, and Vennela Kishore round out the cast.

Rathnavelu and Ravi Varman handled cinematography, and Sreekar Prasad was responsible for editing. Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies are the film's bankers. Many reports have surfaced recently indicating that the film's makers are eyeing a Diwali release.
